“you acreage people”

That is what the employee at a farm supply store in the city said to us when I was complaining about my new fence posts not being symmetrical. He explained that farmers fencing a section of land do not care about symmetrical posts. “But you acreage people, every post has to be in a straight line and perfect.” We found this humorous but at the same time enlightening.

Acreage People was founded in the autumn of 2024 out of our frustration with the lack of affordable acreage supplies and the inconvenience of driving to the city to shop at big box stores.

We made a few small orders to gauge the community response to our business idea. The success of those initial sales and the positive feedback from locals, inspired us to move forward!

Our Story

In 2023 we embarked on a new lifestyle in Alberta. We relocated from Kamloops, British Columbia, to a small acreage in Ponoka County, in between Bluffton and Rimbey.

Cam had always hoped for a quieter, rural lifestyle—no more suits and commutes. Now, the morning starts with a peaceful walk to the barn to feed the horses while watching the sunrise, and work takes place in a home office. Cam has truly redefined the term "horse husband" with his dedication, love for our horses and property. He has fully immersed himself in the community and enjoys getting to know the locals.

I've been involved within the equestrian community for my entire life, engaging in everything from owning a boarding facility to coaching aspiring riders. Since 2008, I've operated Eastwind Horse Transport, a boutique-style horse transportation business dedicated to providing exceptional service. My commitment to high standards of animal care and safety is something I am eager to share with our customers.
